Love this … We tend to wear labels like underwear: supportive, maybe—but usually too tight, not visible to the world, and definitely not meant for everyone’s input.

Thanks so much, Lisa! I have no idea how that image came to me when I was writing this post, but I got a giggle out of it. 🤭

A lot of food for thought here, Lisa. I’ve been a journalist/writer for most of my adult life, and that’s how people introduce me. It bothers me sometimes when the first thing people ask is, “What are you writing/publishing now?” or some such. Makes me feel guilty if I take time off from writing, or if I’m not on a professional deadline.

Thank you for sharing that Cindy! Guilt is definitely one of those emotions that can make us feel inferior. How do you balance those big emotions with getting shit done on your terms, because clearly you are a pro?!

What I have come to realise is that, we never have to ‘become’ confident because we are already confident. We already have it in us. Otherwise we would never make it through the door each day.

I never like labels and I try and remove as many as I can. As soon as I remove one, someone sticks another on me though.

You’re so powerful, Sue! The work you’ve done to bring out your inner confidence has changed the lives of so many, and I imagine you are able to use that knowledge every time someone tries to force another label on you. As you said, you already have it in you. 🤗
